Time to start planning for rehearsals!

Now that the cast has been announced, it time for all the models to start planning for our rehearsals!

It's a very exciting time for the cast as they learn their costumes, placement in the show line-up, parents start purchasing tickets, & siblings get to sign up for Guest VIP Model opportunity.

For all our out of town guests.  Please remember the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center where the show will take place is offering discount tickets for rooms to stay either Saturday night or Sunday night.  You should make sure to mention "American Girl" to get your room discount when reserving your room!

One important aspect to the cast being selected is items that will be needed to complete our costumes that is the responsibility of the models to obtain.  We've created a list to help you out.

If you do not see your character on this list it will be due to no  other items needed to complete your outfit.  Girls cast in PJ's should plan on wearing white socks.  Any other outfit that is not listed, it would be safe to just plan on a dark flat-type of shoe to wear.

In addition, we want the models to look as close to the Historical Characters as possible.  Please educate yourself on your child's character and try to have her hairstyle resemble that of the character she is portraying!

The rehearsal schedule has been announced and is below.

Sun. Sept. 30 at Dance by Design
1-3 Sat. 6:30 show
2-4 Sun 1:00 show
3-5 Sun 4:30 show

Sun. Oct. 28 at Clarion Hotel
 12-2 Sat. 6:30 show
2:30 – 4:30 Sun. 1:00 show
5 – 7 Sun. 4:30 show

Sat. Nov. 10 at Clarion Hotel
1:00 Final rehearsal – all shows together

Just as a reminder to everyone that American Girl promotes natural beauty.  The girls should not wear any makeup during the show or when attending the rehearsals, especially the dress rehearsal!  We cannot take the risk of make-up getting on costumes, so PLEASE leave the make-up at home.

The American Girl Fashion Show contains a grand finale dance routine in which all the models return the runway together to perform a dance routine in which they will sing along to the music.  Please familiarize yourself w/ the lyrics and encourage your child to learn these lyrics prior to the show.

We hope the girls are getting just as excited as we are!

What does it take to be a model in the
American Girl Fashion Show?

Becoming a model in the American Girl Fashion Show is rather easy.  There is no experience necessary!  Your child simply needs to be over 5 yrs old and be able to wear a size 6x or 10 to be able to wear one of the costumes that is provided by the American Girl Programs.

We do conduct a “casting call” simply to make sure the girls will be able to walk the runway, be able to follow directions, and that they will not be scared to be in front of a large audience. We would like girls who really like to express their cute personalities!

In addition, the “casting” call will allow us to select girls suitable to portray one of the Historical Characters.  The girls that we cast for these rolls, will need to look similar to the actual dolls as shown in some of the below pictures.

"KIT"

"Molly"

"Addy"

However, there are many slots available for girls to wear contemporary clothing and does not require certain hair color or style!  They just get to be themselves and have to opportunity some of the stylish American Girl Fashions!

If you are interested in you child being a part of the 2012 American Girl Fashion Show, hosted by the American Cancer Society, please email us @ americangirlfscentralin@gmail.com to be added to our contact list!  You will then be able to receive further information on this year's casting call when those details become available.
